HIV Screening
Introducing the first FDA approved rapid point-of-care test that detects both HIV-1/2 antibodies and free HIV-1 p24 antigen. This 4th generation test has the ability to identify HIV sooner than conventional rapid tests which rely solely on the presence of HIV-1/2 antibodies. Built-in quality controls to let you know the test is working. Test Strips are provided in an aluminum ziplock pouch. Each test strip has a cover that is to be removed for sample application and visualization of test results.

Through a contract with the Louisiana Office of Public Health, the Baton Rouge AIDS Society is responsible for distributing FREE condoms and educational literature throughout Region Two of the state. Prevention remains one of the most effective tools we have in reducing the spread of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases, as well as preventing unintended pregnancy. When used properly and consistently, condoms are a proven method of protection. Providing access to prevention resources is not only a public health priority—it is a community responsibility. By ensuring that individuals have accurate information and free prevention supplies, we empower our community to make informed, responsible decisions about their health and well-being. What is a Home Health Party?
What better way to lean about HIV and Other STDs than in the comfort of your own home. Members from the BRASS team will attend this two hour program at a location chosen by the host. The first 30 minutes of the party is dedicated to fellowship and eating. The next 45 minutes is set aside for Pre/Post Testing. Our program has proven that 70-77% of our participants have had a 50% or more increase in knowledge. The last 45 minutes are geared towards specialized activities which increases the knowledge of participants.
Food
BRASS supports $50.00 towards the preparation of food items for each party. Host can decide to cook and receive a $50.00 gift card. We can also have the food delivered at the choice of the host.
Virtual Program
Baton Rouge AIDS Society continues to serve members across the state of Louisiana and Florida. In order to reach participants, Home Health Parties are able to be delivered via zoom. Host my decided to have friends and family over to the house or participants my all join through zoom.

Just S.M.I.L.E. (Single Mothers Improving their Lives Everyday) is built on love, compassion, and the belief that no mother should have to walk her journey alone. This program is especially meaningful to our CEO, who was raised by a devoted single mother and understands both the sacrifices and the strength that define single-parent households. In many families, fathers are absent or unable to provide the support they should. Yet the needs of the child remain. The needs of the mother remain. Bills must be paid, children must be cared for, and daily responsibilities never pause. That’s why our community must step in with care and support. Through the Baton Rouge AIDS Society, the S.M.I.L.E. Program works to bridge the gap for single mothers in need across our community. The process is designed to be simple, dignified, and supportive: 1. A single mother fills out a short online form requesting the item(s) she needs. 2. BRASS posts the need, allowing a caring donor from the community to select and fulfill that request. 3. BRASS coordinates pickup from the donor and delivers the item directly to the mother. It truly is that simple. When a community comes together with empathy and generosity, mothers feel supported, children feel secure, and families grow stronger. S.M.I.L.E. is more than a program—it’s a reminder that love in action can make a difference.
